We recycled 89% of our waste in 2022
We’re delighted to announce that SM Cleaning Support has received First Mile’s gold award for recycling standards in 2022 by recycling 89% of our waste. Here’s how we did it and why it’s so important to us.
The First Mile gold award
First Mile are our waste management and recycling partners. With the support of our friends at First Mile we strive to minimise our emissions, avoid landfill and recycle as much as possible. Achieving the gold award in 2022 is a huge milestone for us as a company. To achieve the gold award we had to hit a minimum recycling target of 80%, and use at least three different recycling services, such as food, paper and plastics.
Our recycling statistics for 2022
Our performance in 2022 went way beyond what was needed to achieve the gold award, hitting an amazing 89% recycling rate for our business. In total, we saved 44.6 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to charging your phone 5 473 929 times! We avoided sending 3.9 tonnes of waste to landfill, in fact we sent absolutely nothing to landfill. We couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved. Take a look at our certificate below.
